The most effective and organic way to clean your beauty blender

The beauty blender is one of the most crucial make-up tools in our vanity bags of date. Who knew that a little sponge could change our lives in such a huge way?

Despite this – these little bastards can get quite dirty. Some of us take to our own methods to get it clean and end up damaging it and others may just leave it be until its no longer a beauty blender but instead a crime scene explosion of different shades of mud. Alas, there is a sure fire way to clean your beauty blender, and its really simple.

Things you will need:

  • Pure/Natural glycerin soap
  • Warm water

Now I’m sure you could use other forms of soaps such as dishwashing liquid, normal perfumed soaps etc. But these all have chemicals that can overtime damage your delicate beauty blender. Pure glycerin soap is the most gentle and most effective way of cleaning and getting rid of make-up sitting deep within the sponge.

Steps:

1. First, let lukewarm water run over your beauty sponge and gently squeeze it a few times to let the majority of the make-up run out.

2. While the water is running, put the pure glycerin soap bar under it and gently rub them together until the beauty blender is nice and soapy.

3. Keep squeezing the blender while rubbing it with soap under the water as the soap penetrates and cleans the sponge inside throughout. This may take 2 – 3 minutes.

4. Once the water starts to run clear, switch to cold water and squeeze the beauty blender so that excess soap can run out.

5. Once rinsed, squeeze until dry and let the beauty blender dry for a day or so, it might be twice the size but once dry it will revert back to normal.

That’s it! It’s definitely not rocket science, but after a few experiences trying different methods of cleaning this one was definitely the most effective, and it left my sponge looking as clean and as soft as the day I bought it.

I hope this helps you out, it’s gentle, safe and completely organic! Definitely worth a try before using any other harsh cleaning chemicals or spending money on the beauty cleanser.
